COOKIE POLICY

This Cookie Policy provides you with information about the cookies used on BEST EV 4 ME platform (the Platform).

The capitalised terms used in this Cookie Policy have the same meaning as defined in the Terms of the Platform. For more information on the processing of personal data and rights of the data subjects please refer to the Privacy Policy

A cookie is information that a web server sends to your web browser and that is stored in your browser. This information is sent to the web server each time your browser requests to open the Platform from the server and it distinguishes your computer or other device from other devices. Cookies therefore make the Platform more user-friendly and allow us to improve it.

The Platform uses only strictly necessary and analytical cookies. The strictly necessary cookies are used automatically when you take certain actions on the Platform (e.g., compare two cars on the Platform) and do not require your explicit consent. Analytical cookies are used only with your consent. The Platform uses the following cookies:

Cookie type Cookie name Purpose of the cookie Data used
Strictly necessary XSRF-TOKEN cookie It's a crucial part of web security to protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) attacks. You might already know that CSRF is a type of attack that tricks an end user into performing actions they didn't intend to do on a web application where they're authenticated. It's used purely to validate that incoming requests are coming from the Platform, as opposed to a different site that might be trying to trick the user. The XSRF-TOKEN doesn't actually store any personal or sensitive user data. It's a simple token, generated using encryption methods, that's unique to the user's session.
Strictly necessary SESSION cookie This one is for handling user sessions. When a user accesses the Platform, a session is created to manage information like user authentication status, form data, and more. It's automatically generated by site to uniquely identify a user's session. This cookie holds a unique session ID, which is just a random string generated by site. This ID is used to look up the session information stored on the server side. This ID doesn't hold any particular user data within itself.
Strictly necessary REMEMBER WEB Cookie When a user checks the "Remember Me" box during login, Laravel sets this cookie to make sure the user remains logged in even after they close the browser or even restart the computer. This way, they won't have to log in every time they revisit the site. The remember_web cookie contains an encrypted identifier that is used to retrieve the user's login state from the database.
Strictly necessary COMPARISON_GROUP Cookie This cookie allows you to compare different cars on the Platform. Contains one or two cars IDs for comparison reason.
Strictly necessary cookieConsent Used to save user cookie settings. Contains user choice (allowed or denied).
Analytical VISITOR_UUID cookie This cookie allows us to see the number of unique Platform visitors. Contains randomly generated ID, example: 2a621dea-75fa-4379-944e-b230bb130fb0 This ID is used to record user visited pages from unique devices.
Analytical VSCT cookie This cookie allows us to see the country from which the user visits the Platform. Contains just visitors country name, detected using IP address. Example: Lithuania
Analytical _ga Used to distinguish users. Contains array of IDs.
Analytical _ga_container-id Used to persist session state. Contains array of IDs.

If you do not want your personal data to be processed by cookies, you can change the settings of your web browser so that cookies are not accepted, or delete the saved cookies. If you delete the necessary cookies and prevent them from being used in your web browser, some of the functions of the Platform will not function properly, e.g., you will not be able to compare the cars.

You can change the cookie settings in your browser at any time. All browsers have the option to delete cookies, please refer to your browser settings for details.
